Java NetRISK |
||
Description:A networkable version of the classic game RISK, written in Java 1.18 with advanced networking capablities using Java's RMI (Remote Method Invocation). This was a group project written in the spring of my freshman year, for CMSC 25 - Software Engineering with Tom Naps. Files:The project's license has changed to GPL and the source code is now available via SourceForge . Future Plans:My involvment with this project is currently non-existant. One of my fellow group members, Jordan Love, who was originally responsible for much of the logic coding behind how the three differnt types of games playable within RISK, has continued some work on this project. He recently contacted me to ask that I fix some small errors in my code, but as of yet, I have not found the time or desire to do so. Perhaps I will dust of RISK one day. Most recently, I compiled RISK under Java 2, under Mac OS X with Apple's Project Builder. This was only a test. Since I was not able to get the RMI registry to respond correctly, i did not persue work with RISK under X, but I may choose to in the future. |
